CENTIPEDE
Introduced in the late 1960's to the North Shore market by our founder, Jim Simpson, Centipede is now the most popular turf in the area. Centipede is nick-named "The Lazy Man's Grass" because of it's ability to thrive with very low maintenance.
In
recent years, Centipede has unfairly been given a bad reputation because of
the unethical business practices of companies misrepresenting grass cut from
cow pastures as Centipede. This pasture grass is a blend of Bahaia,
Carpet Grass, Centipede, and other weeds.
Class A Centipede from Simpson Sod is weed-free and absolutely beautiful. Centipede is easy to mow and will thrive when cut at 2 1/2 to 3 inches about once a week during the growing season.
